Okay before I start blogging about the concert let me just say I know what some of you may be thinking…. where is Trendy Tuesday?! Annd where is What is it Wednesday?! I took a look at my blog the other day and it made me realize that if I were a client looking for a photographer I would not want to dig through the fluff to see her pictures. SO from now on a blog post will not be made unless it is accompanied by my work. So it’s back to the drawing board for a weekly blog topic – mainly to keep me accountable for blogging consistently. I’m so sad to say goodbye to Trendy Tuesday – as I absolutely loved doing them – but it was also such a huge time consumer! So goodbye Trendy Tuesday, and so long What is it Wednesday…… Here’s to the next new idea!

MMMMkay so the concert! was AMAZING! It was right here in town at Spotswood Baptist – which was so nice for it to be so close! I came along as the official photographer for WPER - love this job! PER had given away two spots for meet/greets and front row seats – these gals were so excited!!

Phil Stacey was so laid back and cool – you’d like him a lot!

He opened for the night, and what an amazing start.

And then came Britt Nicole – she’s full of energy and has a heart full of God.

There was a brief intermission, but right before hand Natalie Grant came out and spoke to the crowd about a a cause near and dear to her heart. Radiant Hope.

I purchased this necklace because I loved how it had a deeper meaning beyond its looks. The necklace comes with a card that says : “This necklace has 27 tears representing the 27 million women and children who are slaves right now. These are on a chain to represent the cruelty of slavery. The key represents your commitment to be an abolitionist and set them free!”

So after everyone flocked to buy some of this Radiant Hope! Natalie Grant came out and blew us all away with her amazing voice.

And just before the end, all 3 singers came out and sang together – it was beautiful.

I seriously love my job.

Mercy Me Concert with Aaron Shust :: VA MD DC Lifestyle Photographer

When I first heard that I *might* be going to this concert at the Hilton Memorial Chapel I was overwhelmed with excitement. When my Grand daddy passed away this past October, my Grandma had a Mercy Me cd and we listened to it over and over again. I would say they played a huge role in helping us through that difficult time. I would have given anything to have brought my Grandma to their concert, but she is in Georgia – maybe one day they’ll make it down to Atlanta? Anyway, The second best thing I could do though, was to take my mom. And come to find out it was my mom’s first concert ever. Can you imagine how meaningful this was? And just such a blessing from above. I didn’t spend nearly as much time taking pictures this time as I did at the Chris Tomlin concert, because I wanted to really experience this with my mom. It was just amazing, and until you worship with 3300 people – its a feeling truly unexplainable. GOD was there, he was shining down on us, soaking up and loving every one of us lifting him up.

Aaron Shust opened for Mercy Me. He was sick, but you wouldn’t have known it – he was amazing!!

And then, Mercy Me came out!!

WPER had a contest and they gave away spots to have lunch with with 2 members of Mercy Me. I was asked to join them to record the event, and so of course I agreed!! I was so excited!

Chris Tomlin, Christy Knockels, & Louie Giglio Christmas Tour :: WPER :: VA MD DC Photographer

WPER was at the Christmas tour with a table promoting the Toys for Tots program – it was absolutely amazing to see so many people come out and donate so many presents for children in need.

The concert was fantastic, just absolutly moving. The fact that it was a Christmas tour just gave it a +1 on my stand point. It was just amazing.

Chris Tomlin Concert Sneak Peak! :: VA MD DC Photographer

Last night I attended my very first christian concert! I am so glad I have the gift of photography, because sometimes seeing something is really the only way to really take it in, and with these pictures I can do it over and over again. I had SO much fun last night, and I am even more excited now about this partnership with WPER. I am beyond blessed to have this opportunity!! Seeing all these people worship together was so touching, Ive never seen anything like it before in my life.

Here is a small sneak peak.

When I look at this picture, I like to think that as the band plays and sings – they are delivering a message from God. The bright light shining down from the heavens.

And of course Chris Tomlin!!

Fredericksburg Christmas Parade! :: WPER 90.5 :: VA MD DC Photographer

I am starting a partnership with the Christian Radio Station WPER 89.9 &90.5 www.wper.org! I believe this to be one of the most exciting things I have ever done! I will be attending events that they are at and capturing the moments around them, in return they are going to promote my business!! My first opportunity, of many to come, was this past Saturday evening at the Fredericksburg Christmas parade. It was FREEEEZING out, but still just beautiful! And to see so many people out enjoying it was warming! PER was down there promoting the Toys for Tots program.

90.5 PER Fall Share-a-thon :: VA MD DC Wedding & Portrait Photographer

Tuesday was the start of PER’s fall share-a-thon. If you are not familiar with PER, they are a christian radio station here in Fredericksburg. So many times, I have felt encouragement from the right song being played at the right moment. Like when I’m upset with Justin and the song “I’m waiting” from fireproof will come on….

No matter the circumstance, the right song comes on and the right time. It’s amazing! Justin & I supported the radio station back in their Spring Share-a-thon, and have plans to support them again this time! I need them to be around to provide that encouragement!

They were down at the Southpoint Chik-fil-A giving out free chicken sandwiches, who can pass up free food and an opportunity to meet Happy from the show! So we headed down there and I’m so glad we did! They had face painting, and were giving away prizes! I ended up winning a Toby Mac cd!

Katie wanted her face painted too, but refused to allow the girl do it. So I tried… Well she wanted a ballon but didn’t let me paint the string – so it looked like she had a green blob on her face! lol And of course she spotted the lolli pops!
