Everything about this session is just beautiful. The people. The love. The locations. Michael & Gretchen have HUGE hearts. From the words of a photographer friend of mine “They give, and give, and give… and they love every minute of it. They share a beautiful vision to invest in and change kids’ lives, forever. And they plan to spend their lives doing that, together.” It gives me chill bumps just thinking about how awesome these two are. And I get the amazing opportunity to photograph their wedding!!

Stylized Shoot :: UNO! :: VA MD DC Photographer

As I was sitting around one afternoon I called up a photographer friend of mine to see what she was doing and she told me she was on her way to a stylized shoot with another photographer. So of course I was like REALLY!? I made some phone calls to see if it was possible for me to go, and thanks to the AMAZING friends and family in my life I was able to go! Talk about last minute!!

There were different models from wedding to maternity, kids to bridal… it was so fun!

Today I am blogging about Alison & Kenny – an engaged couple!

John & Melissa :: Washington DC Engagement Photography

I met John & Melissa in Northern Virginia and we rode up to Washington DC together – which was SO nice because it gave us a chance to really chat and get to know each other a bit before we started photographing. John & Melissa are both teachers, and met at the school that they work at through mutual friends. They are seriously adorable together and are completely in love… it’s totally obvious. See for yourself.

PS – Almost all of the images aside from the ones shot by the Capital were shot around the Smithsonian! I had no idea how much fun that place could be!!

Johnny & Nichole Engagment session :: Downtown Arlington VA Photographer

We had this session planned for what seemed like forever! The plans were to head to DC for the beautiful cherry blossoms. Before I even got 20 minutes away from my house, there was traffic like I had never seen before in my life. It was awful. What should have taken me an hour, took me 2 hours just to get up to 495. So, a change in plans was made and we found ourselves in downtown Arlington for our session. I’m not going to lie, I was slightly disappointed. The idea of DC and the cherry blossoms was just so amazing in my head. But after I got to thinking about it, ALL those people were going there – it would have been a mess. And the fact that Downtown Arlington is where Johnny & Nichole had their first date – this place had history and meaning, which is so important to me. I want my photographs to be more than just that, so I of course fell in love with the idea!

These two are absolutely adorably in love, and I cannot wait to capture their wedding!

I know I probably say this every time, but this is my favorite session yet! I tried some new editing tricks and I’m in love! But you’ll have to wait until next week to see the entire session, gotta let my couple see them first

Duane & Erin and a ring! :: VA MD DC Engagement Session Photographer

I have known Duane & Erin since high school. Erin & I used to cheer together wayyy back when!! I probably have some pictures around here somewhere. But instead of sharing those old things, how about some from their engagement session! We met up at Erin’s parents house out in Fredericksburg Virginia and spent a little bit of time together!

I love it when people smile with their eyes!

Then we brought the little man out and got some family pictures together!

Vince & Nadir :: VA DC MD Wedding & Portrait Photographer

I just love everything about this session. We met at one of the Spotsylvania Battlefields, which had been the planned spot for Vince to propose to Nadir. Circumstances changed and he ended up proposing at her sisters house, but one of the parts that I was completely in love with was the fact that Vince washed her feet the day he proposed! What an amazing outward expression of servitude. I think that is one of the most romantic things ever! Just watching these two interact was so amazing. You could just feel the love swirling around us!

Actually I am sure it began a long time ago for these two!! They will be getting married next weekend, 9 days to be exact!

We took at trip up to the Brookside Gardens in Maryland for their engagement session, it was SO beautiful up there! If you are ever in the area I highly recommend it. Very calming and peaceful, which made for a wonderful engagement session. You could just feel the love swirling around! These two are completely head over heels for each other! I am so excited to capture their special day!
