John & Melissa :: Washington DC Engagement Photography

I met John & Melissa in Northern Virginia and we rode up to Washington DC together – which was SO nice because it gave us a chance to really chat and get to know each other a bit before we started photographing. John & Melissa are both teachers, and met at the school that they work at through mutual friends. They are seriously adorable together and are completely in love… it’s totally obvious. See for yourself.

PS – Almost all of the images aside from the ones shot by the Capital were shot around the Smithsonian! I had no idea how much fun that place could be!!

Seriously – I know it’s not really possible to love an object but I cannot wait to really get out and shoot with the 5D Mark II!! I took the battery out of the charger when it had just enough juice to shoot because I could hardly stand for it to just sit there and stare at me! LOL And the only willing subject were some tulips – but UHM I love this!!!

It also is a huge help that I came to conclusions yesterday about my editing techniques and have some fresh new ideas/ things to use!

Can Saturday’s wedding come any quicker?! lol YAY!

Operation Love Reunited is so special to me because I feel like I can give these couples something to keep them going through the months apart. When Justin spent time in Afghanistan & Iraq – pictures meant the world to me. I pray these pictures give you hope and remind you of the love you guys have that burns so brightly for each other.

What is it?? Its me and another amazing photographer Korie Lynn with some ideas and looking for LOCAL creative people in the wedding industry.
