I do not like to be cold. No No No – I like to be warm, comfortable, and in a tee shirt! When news of this storm started circling the one thing that kept going through my mind is - please don’t let us lose power!! No power = no heat! I wouldn’t mind being snowed in with no way out, or really no electricity to be honest, but we do not have gas heat or a wood stove so if the power goes… so does the heat…. Yea I didn’t like the idea. Well, unfortunately for me around 5am Saturday morning it went out. I’m such a light sleeper it woke me up when it went out and I thought ohhh no.
I continued to snuggle w/ Mr Clarke until the kids woke up. The day went on and it wasn’t TOO bad – but the heat was steadily slipping away. A friend of ours had called to talk about a church group and we mentioned we had no power – and they invited us over to their home. They had power still, and if it went out they had a generator! Which meant warmthhhhhhhhhhh!! So around 7pm when we realized our power wasn’t coming back and it was getting pretty chilly, we headed over to our friends home. We were so thankful to have such kind & inviting friends! Our power was out for around 48 hours and we returned home yesterday morning. Took quite a while for the house to warm up – but we are currently sitting comfortable!
My only hope is that this next storm doesn’t come steal that warmth!
